Overland Classifieds :: 1994 Stewart and Stevenson M1079 Expedition Vehicle

Stewart and Stevenson trucks are a popular choice for overland builds, with recent examples including this $350,000 2012 Adrenalin Industries Expedition Truck, a $120,000 M1088A1 6×6, and an $89,000 1997 M1088 6×6. This Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles was originally intended for the military but has since become available to the public. It’s safe to say that military vehicles can be a little hit-or-miss when it comes to real-world dependability. Still, Stewart and Stevenson is highly regarded and the recipient of the U.S. Army’s “ultra-reliable” award status for the past 17 years. For this reason, their trucks are the platform of choice for expedition vehicle builder Acela Truck, with their flagship Monterra being based on an M1078A1. Today’s offering was built from the ground up by the current owners to a massive specification, showcases extensive modifications and a luxurious habitation box, and is priced competitively at $190,000.

From the Seller:

For sale is our dream expedition vehicle. We built this truck from bare-bones and have lived in it for six months. We are selling to get something smaller. The truck is a 1994 LMTV M1078, manufactured by Stewart and Stevenson for the United States military. This truck is well maintained and thoroughly checked before, during, and after every trip.”
