There’s a phenomenon currently underway on the Expedition Portal Classifieds forum that I like to call “Land Cruiser madness.” Everywhere you look, there’s a Land Cruiser for sale. Jack Mac recently featured a 2015 Cruiser, 1994 FZJ80, 1983 FJ60, and 1994 FZJ80, while I added a 1995 FZJ80 with a Campteq pop-top to the mix. It appears we’ve entered a time in automotive history in which a typical well-kept 80-Series is going for over $40k. Let that sink in.
This Dark Emerald Green 80-Series Land Cruiser’s wheels and fender flares have been color-matched to the factory bumpers, while an Old Man Emu 2-inch lift kit with caster adjustment bushings was added. This feature looks so clean it makes me want to tear up a little.
From the Seller:
“The truck is in great overall shape, and everything material is working and drives and handles as you would want. Recent work was completed by noted Toyota mechanic (and LC specialist) Michael Potter in Santa Fe, and we have addressed any issues found during his inspections. Since purchasing, I have sorted various mechanical issues, fully baselined fluids, belts, and hoses. Beyond maintenance, I have made numerous upgrades with some notable changes: added a Bowfin Cruisers roof rack, complete stereo upgrade, and a rear tailgate storage hatch from BackBay Customs.”
1994 Toyota 80-Series Land Cruiser
Power comes from a 4.5-liter 1Z-FE inline-six, mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, two-speed transfer case, and factory locking front, center, and rear differentials. The 80-Series was the last North American Land Cruiser to receive a solid front axle, but boasts a refined driving experience not found in earlier models.
Distinguishing Features
In addition to a handful of aftermarket accessories, this build has undergone extensive stereo work including sound deadening in the front doors and the installation of a Kenwood touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth and wireless CarPlay, a JL Audio amplifier and 10-inch sub, and speakers up front and in the rear. I imagine cranking the tunes while cruising in this thing is a satisfying experience.
Additional distinguishing features include:
- ARB front bumper and 10,000-pound Warn winch with synthetic rope
- IPF auxiliary lighting
- Heated and cooled Recaro Ergomed front seats
- Tamerlan swing-out spare tire carrier
- BFGoodrich KO2 tires, 305/70R16
This 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser is listed for $41,500 OBO and is currently located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Check out the full vehicle specifications via the original Expedition Portal forum post here.
