New Video Series from Bound for Nowhere

Storytelling has always been at the heart of Expedition Portal and Overland Journal—from remote trails and border crossings to the big questions we ask ourselves along the way. As we head into 2025, we’re more fired up than ever to share more on-the-road stories from overlanders around the globe, and elevate the quality of video content on Expedition Portal while we do it.

When we think of premium overland video content, XOVERLAND immediately comes to mind, with their stunning cinematography and remote global expeditions. This production quality and storytelling is now available on the Expedition Portal YouTube channel with the Bound for Nowhere video series called Applied Theory of International Overlanding, all produced by XOVERLAND. In this 5-part series, MAK and Owen (Bound for Nowhere) will explore overlanding from a different perspective than they are used to, and completely out of their comfort zone. This includes renting a Suzuki Jimny and outfitting it with the essential equipment to explore the remote Eden of New Zealand.

Watch Episode One Here: Intro to International Overlanding
MAK and Owen kick off their international overlanding journey in Christchurch, New Zealand, testing a new approach by renting a vehicle instead of shipping their own. They dive into planning, logistics, and adapting to a new kind of adventure.

Applied Theory of International Overlanding follows full-time travelers MAK and Owen as they explore New Zealand in a rented Jimny, sharing real-world lessons on affordable international overlanding without shipping your own vehicle. From rugged coastlines to alpine hikes, each episode offers practical tips and inspiration for planning your own global adventure. A new Bound for Nowhere video series episode will drop weekly, and we are just getting started. Look for additional premium content to drop each Thursday. Thanks for being along for the adventure!
