Movember Foundation’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

The Movember Foundation’s 2025 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is just around the corner. Sign up, suit up, and saddle up to support their annual dressed-to-the-nines motorcycle outing on Sunday, May 18. Triumph Motorcycles is the Official Motorcycle Partner for the annual event to raise funds for men’s health initiatives. Triumph’s reputation and global reach are key in supporting this cause, as they’ve done for 12 years.

Movember Roots

The Movember movement began when two Aussie mates held a mustache growing contest to raise money for prostate cancer research. Thirty gents put down ten dollars each in 2003, and hairy face race was on. The ensuing whiskers generated AUD 300 in stache cash for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Spain and the UK joined the growing event the next year, helping to raise AUD 54,000. That list has grown to 19 countries currently participating.

Dress Up to Help People

You won’t be alone in your cravat, tweed trousers, and spats, as this is a global event held in over 1,000 cities worldwide. The Movember Foundation is a global charity that funds men’s health projects, such as mental health, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Since 2003 they have financed over 1250 men’s health projects with the help of nearly 7 million contributors.

It’s not just the older gents who need the support and medical advances the Movember Foundation makes possible. Anyone can have a buddy, a mate, a chum, a compadre, a brother, father, or best friend who’s struggling with cancer or mental health issues. The DGR is a way to make a difference while riding a motorcycle in style. Lady riders and passengers are welcome as well.

Paul Stroud, Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated “As well as raising even more funds for research through our involvement, we hope to increase awareness and encourage men to talk more about their health, helping them seek timely advice and support. It’s also a chance for all of us to simply enjoy some time together in May, bonding over our shared passion for vintage and modern classic motorcycles.”

And there’s the rub: to the classic-themed DGR—your motorcycle must be a classic-styled machine. If you have a bike that fits, and clothing to match, show them off while supporting men’s health. Dress to the nines, make your shoes and bike shine

, and hit the road on May 18. Your brothers will thank you.

Arden’s first motorcycle was a Yamaha Enduro, obtained while in high school. It set the stage for decades of off-pavement exploration on dual-sports and adventure bikes. Camping in the middle of nowhere became his favorite pursuit. As a former whitewater river guide and National Park Service seasonal employee, Arden believes in wilderness, wildlife, and being kind to the earth. A self-taught writer who barely passed English classes, he has contributed adventure stories and tested motorcycles and accessories for Rider Magazine and other outlets for nearly 30 years. In that time, he’s worn out two KLR 650s and is currently following the road to the middle of nowhere on his Ténéré 700 and an aging but reliable DR-Z 400S.
