Two travelers, their faithful dog, and an old Land Rover Defender, embark on an adventure along the legendary stone road in Turkiye. This journey marks a new chapter in their lives, having recently married and left their jobs to travel eastward, tackling the most challenging off-road tracks they can find.
Turkiye’s most notorious and beautiful Kemaliye Stone Road took 130 years to construct. It spans approximately seven miles and runs alongside a canyon. Its narrow width, which is just two meters in places, and the 38 tunnels it passes through make it a treacherous yet thrilling route.
Research indicated the road’s dangerous reputation, so the couple braced themselves for the worst. However, as they navigated the tunnels, they found the experience exhilarating rather than frightening. The stunning views and high spirits made the journey unforgettable. Turkiye
Throughout the drive, they take moments to appreciate their surroundings, including a well-deserved baklava break. The road, shrouded in darkness at times, proves less difficult than anticipated, bringing relief and joy. This segment of their trip becomes a cherished memory, a highlight that stands out for its uniqueness and beauty.
