Over 25 inches of snow fell in Park City, Utah last Tuesday night. Spotlights atop the Range Rover House just off the main street highlighted huge, tumbling white snowflakes as a car cover was pulled back to reveal a jaw-dropping vehicle: the Range Rover Sport Deer Valley Edition. This bespoke run of only 20 vehicles is specifically designed for the discerning Range Rover enthusiast looking for the perfect alpine ski platform.
Land Rover’s P350 V8 (borrowed from the Autobiography trim) powers the Deer Valley Edition Sport, and it’s paired with bespoke satin dark gray 23-inch wheels made from forged aluminum with carbon fiber inserts. Each vehicle will come also with a second set of dedicated 22-inch wheels with snow tires for winter travel.
Deer Valley Edition owners will not only get a unique Range Rover Sport, but they will also receive the following:
- Two sets of custom skis made by Hinterland Skis in Murray, Utah
- A three-night stay at Deer Valley Resort
- Two Ikon season passes from Altera for the 2023-2024 ski season
- A matching custom Thule Alpine ski box
- A ski-with-a-pro experience at Deer Valley Resort
Most striking is the vehicle’s unique Deep Gloss Vermillion Red color. This is an industry first by Land Rover, built on a chrome base layer for reflection, a layer of red, and finished with a self-healing top coat for unmatched depth, color, and luster. The interior features a unique cloud and black contrasting trim. The overall combination is genuinely striking and pops against a snowy backdrop.
Range Rover conceived the Deer Valley Edition concept with insight from World Cup ski champion Lindsey Vonn and Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety. Ski enthusiasts will appreciate Lindsey and Ted’s signatures on the door sill tread plate, badging, and other locations throughout the vehicle.
In addition, Range Rover is now the official luxury vehicle of Deer Valley Resort. The main lodge and accompanying resort hotels will feature a fleet of Range Rover Sports to accommodate guests with complimentary in-town transportation. Visiting Range Rover owners can access preferred parking, curated ski packages, and other amenities.
Range Rover will donate $5,000 of the profits from each vehicle to Park City’s Youth Sports Alliance for a total donation of $100,000. The Youth Sports Alliance offers programs focused on introducing local youth to sports and healthy lifestyles. Last year they worked with 2,300 kids from 21 local schools. Their programs provided them with the equipment, clothing, transportation, and training to participate in over 90 activities, including skiing, skating, luge, mountain biking, triathlon, biathlon, art, cooking, glass blowing, and the list goes on.
The Range Rover Sport Deer Valley edition is available exclusively through the Range Rover House in Park City, Utah—price: $165,000. Visit Land Rover USA for more information.
