La Aduana: Earthroamer XV-LT

A large, rugged EarthRoamer Overlander expedition vehicle is parked in front of the EarthRoamer building under a blue sky with scattered clouds. The truck, built for overlanding, features large tires, a front grill guard, and a camper mounted on the back.

The first time I stepped aboard an Earthroamer, I knew immediately it was way out of my league. I also knew that no matter how old and decrepit a used Earthroamer would be in the far off future, even those examples would be beyond my grasp. That doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to look at, right? Here we have a lightly used model, in pristine condition with low miles and full of features. Although it’s priced above the average value of an American home, it’s easy to forget it is a home in itself–a very capable home at that. Built on a Ford F550 Crew Cab, this Earthroamer features the all of the premium options including the upgraded King Off-Road suspension paired to Continental 41” MPT-81 military grade tires on military grade beadlock rims. The heavy duty front bumper houses a 16,500 pound winch and a rear 9,500 pound winch rounds out the recovery options. What really defines an Earthroamer is the yacht-inspired comfort and efficiency of the living quarters. Every drawer, light, appliance, and accouterment is executed with exacting detail. Taken strictly for what it is, it is a thing of beauty.
