La Aduana: 1992 Toyota Hiace 4×4 Diesel…Popup

A gray and silver overland van is parked on snowy ground with a wintry landscape in the background. The van, built for overlanding adventures, has tinted windows and is covered with a thin layer of snow.

Now this is something you don’t see everyday. Our own Christian Pelletier once again honed his radar in on another rare van, this time a 1992 Toyota Hiace located in his home province of Quebec, Canada. With only 190,000 kilometers on the odometer, this 4×4 van has a 3.0 liter diesel engine paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The interior is well appointed with all the camping luxuries anyone would want from a full compliment of cabinets and storage compartments to a sink, fridge, dual battery system, and yes, that is a pop-up camper. These vans are known for being very capable offroad, and as one would expect, have the reliability Toyota is known for. With the low miles and full list of features, the $20,000 asking price seems quite reasonable.
