Jeep Unveils New Concepts for 57th Annual Easter Jeep Safari Trail Adventure

Jeep enthusiasts and off-road enthusiasts alike are in for a treat this year at the 2023 Easter Jeep Safari, as the Jeep brand and Jeep Performance Parts (JPP) by Mopar design teams have created seven unique concept vehicles that are equipped with advanced powertrains and cutting-edge technology. These vehicles are designed to take four-wheeling to the next level and showcase the legendary Jeep 4×4 capability.

According to Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America

“It’s the perfect place to showcase our seven new Jeep concepts because it’s with these Jeep enthusiasts that we’ll be able to push the limits even more and get their feedback on where they want to take the Jeep brand into the future.”

One of the most exciting concepts at the event is the Jeep Wrangler Magneto 3.0 Concept. This is the third time this off-road beast has appeared at the Easter Jeep Safari, and it is an electrified vehicle that is stealthy, quiet, quick, and a true rock-climbing force. The Jeep Magneto 3.0 concept is built on a two-door 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and features a custom-built axial flux electric motor that can operate up to 6,000 rpm and connects to a six-speed manual transmission for ultimate control. The compact e-motor delivers up to 273 lb.-ft. of torque and 285 horsepower, which has been improved with a new, more efficient motor that boosts the torque output, resulting in a 20% increase in useable energy and range.

Another concept vehicle that is sure to turn heads is the Jeep Scrambler 392 Concept. Based on the CJ-8, this unique small pickup truck is highly capable and versatile. This concept vehicle offers impressive power and incredible torque with its 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8 engine (470 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque). The Jeep Scrambler 392 concept features lightweight off-road performance achieved through custom carbon fiber bodywork, with an open-air freedom personality. The newly released AccuAir air suspension kit which was developed for the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator is on the most exciting features of the Jeep Scrambler 392 concept.

The 1978 Jeep Cherokee 4xe Concept is another highlight of this year’s event. This Resto-mod concept build pays homage to the Jeep Cherokee SJ, a first-of-its-kind vehicle with on and off-road chops, combining a high-tech 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 engine, two electric motors, and a high-voltage battery pack and features the advanced Jeep Wrangler 4xe powertrain.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Concept is another noteworthy concept vehicle, featuring a potent platform for off-road excursions as well as electrification. This Jeep’s exterior showcases a captivating pink-toned paint finish with Gloss Black accents highlighting the front grille and headlamp bezels. The distinct seven-slot grille, derived from the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary edition, complements a bespoke hood graphic with a tone-on-tone design that corresponds fittingly with the interior theme.

The Grand Wagoneer Overland Concept elevates the off-road exploration experience, utilizing the latest 3.0-liter Hurricane Twin Turbo 510 engine to push adventure enthusiasts deeper into uncharted terrain. With an overlanding theme in mind, this remarkable concept showcases a wealth of features, both inside and out, such as a personalized RedTail Overland Skyloft attached to the top of the Grand Wagoneer’s roof.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Departure Concept is an innovative design that builds upon the best-selling and most capable PHEV in America with the JPP by Mopar design team’s help. This concept car’s spare wheel and tire mount allow the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe to exceed departure angles with 4×4 electrification. Riding on 17-by-8.5-inch Vintage Bronze KMC Impact OL wheels and 37-inch BFGoodrich tires, the Wrangler 4xe Departure concept features a JPP 2-inch (5 cm) lift kit with Bilstein performance shock absorbers. Custom flat-fender flares and wheel liners provide additional clearance, while custom rock rails with mounted slider tubes offer enhanced body protection and easier access to the elevated cabin. The designers of the Wrangler 4xe Departure concept have utilized innovative solutions to mount the spare wheel and tire while ensuring that they complement the other accessories. The rear of the vehicle features a convertible tube gate that is customizable and can accommodate the spare wheel and tire in either a front-facing or rear-facing position, providing additional cargo space.

The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon Sideburn Concept is a rugged off-road vehicle that features a bold Solar Flash Yellow color and incorporates cutting-edge tools for adventure seekers. This vehicle is powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine and has a JPP 2-inch (5 cm) lift kit with Bilstein performance shock absorbers. The Black HRE 17-by-9-inch FT1 six-spoke wheels are equipped with 37-by-13-inch BF Goodrich tires, and a custom JPP limb-riser safeguards the hood and windshield from damage using heavy-duty cables. The bed of the Gladiator Sideburn concept is furnished with integrated Molle panels above and behind the wheel flares, RotoPaX containers, and a customized Mopar bed-mounted spare tire carrier that can hold a 37-inch wheel and tire. A distinctive tailgate on the Gladiator Sideburn concept carries a standard backup camera, CHMSL, and includes three Molle-panel openings and a bespoke floating Jeep badge in the central opening. For an open-air experience, the availability of JPP half doors, and JPP side steps and JPP grab handles to facilitate easy entry into the raised cabin.
