Jeep Debuts the New Avenger 4xe in Europe

Jeep has taken a significant step forward in the compact SUV segment with the debut of the new Avenger 4xe, the latest addition to its growing lineup of electrified vehicles. Blending urban efficiency with proven moderate off-road capability, the Avenger 4xe is now available to order in select trims, including the range-topping Overland model. The timing could not be better as it has become increasingly expensive for urban-based explorers in European cities such as Amsterdam and Berlin to own and operate internal combustion engine (ICE ) vehicles. And, as the Avenger is manufactured in Tychy, Poland, reciprocal tariffs should not theoretically affect the retail price across the EU market.

At the core of the Jeep Avenger 4xe is a 48-volt hybrid system that pairs a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine producing 136 horsepower with two 21-kilo-watt electric motors—one mounted on each axle. This setup delivers a combined output of 145 horsepower and enables all-wheel-drive functionality. The system is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and can operate in full-electric mode at low speeds. Jeep claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 194 km/h, making it 10 km/h faster than the e-Hybrid variant.

Designed to handle varied terrain, the Avenger 4xe benefits from enhanced ground clearance of 210 millimeters and optimized approach, breakover, and departure angles—22, 21, and 35 degrees, respectively. It can ford water up to 400 millimeters deep and climb gradients as steep as 40 percent on unpaved surfaces. The rear axle features a 22.7:1 reducer that delivers up to 1,900 newton-meters of torque, improving traction on rugged terrain. The intelligent AWD system offers different modes depending on speed and terrain, including a permanent 50:50 torque split at low speeds and disengagement of the rear motor at highway speeds for improved efficiency.

Drivers can select from four Selec-Terrain modes—auto, snow, sand and mud, and sport—to tailor performance to specific driving conditions. The vehicle also incorporates Jeep’s Multilink rear suspension system, which is more commonly found on larger vehicles. This enhances ride quality and rear axle articulation for greater comfort on uneven surfaces.

The Avenger 4xe is offered in three distinct trims: Upland, Overland, and a limited-edition North Face model. The Upland trim includes features like 17-inch black alloy wheels with all-season tires, full LED headlamps, washable interior materials, and a suite of driver-assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control and hill descent control.

The Overland trim introduces premium touches above the Upland, including full LED projector headlights, velour floor mats, privacy glass, ambient lighting, a 360-degree parking sensor system, Level 2 assisted driving, wireless charging, and blind-spot monitoring. Deliveries for this trim are expected to begin in May 2025.

At the top of the range is the Avenger 4xe The North Face Edition, a collaboration between Jeep and the outdoor apparel brand. Limited to 4,806 units—a nod to the elevation of Mont Blanc—the model features exclusive Summit Gold accents, a unique color palette inspired by nature, and rugged design elements, including a topographic-patterned grille and anti-reflective hood sticker. Inside, it includes distinctive seat upholstery modeled after The North Face’s iconic puffer jackets and 3D topographic floor mats. Buyers also receive a branded welcome kit containing a tent, duffel bag, and water bottle.

Interior updates across the lineup emphasize both comfort and durability. Materials are waterproof, stain-resistant, and easy to clean. Infotainment is managed via a 10.25-inch touchscreen paired with a digital instrument cluster of the same size. The connected services suite includes real-time navigation updates, maintenance alerts, and integration with the Jeep smartphone app. A new in-system ChatGPT feature enhances the experience by offering AI-driven travel suggestions and brand-related information.
