Honda has recently previewed features of the all-new 2026 Passport TrailSport, a model designed to be its most capable adventure SUV yet. The new Passport TrailSport aims to tackle rugged terrain with enhanced capability, featuring 31-inch all-terrain tires on specially engineered 18-inch wheels and bright orange heavy-duty front recovery points. A significantly shorter front overhang improves the vehicle’s approach angle, adding to its off-road capabilities.
Under the hood, the Passport TrailSport is powered by a new, more powerful DOHC 3.5-liter V6 engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Honda’s i-VTM4 torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system comes standard. Honda claims that these features combined make the Passport TrailSport the most adventure-ready SUV Honda has produced to date.
Honda has launched the broadest line of Genuine Accessories ever for the new Passport to further boost its rugged capability. These accessories include durable rock sliders capable of supporting the vehicle’s weight, which work alongside the TrailSport’s standard heavy-duty steel skid plates. An aluminum front scuff plate helps protect the front fascia, while an extensive selection of cargo accessories caters to overlanding enthusiasts, including a MOLLE storage system integrated into the rear cargo area.
For enhanced off-road navigation, the Passport TrailSport introduces new technology, including the optional TrailWatch system. This system provides drivers with four camera views—front, rear, side, and 360-degree—to help manage obstacles that might be out of sight. Additional tire path and vehicle body guidelines are displayed on the center screen, assisting drivers when negotiating obstacles like blind crests, deep ruts, and trail edges.
The 2026 Honda Passport and Passport TrailSport are set to make their debut later this fall, with availability at dealerships across the country starting early next year. The 2026 Honda Passport is expected to have a starting price of approximately $45,000, with higher trims and additional options bringing the cost up to $51,000.
