While the information is limited, it is still exciting: GMC has just announced its intention to add an all-electric Sierra Denali pickup truck to its EV lineup.
Joining the ranks of the Hummer and Hummer SUV, the electric Sierra will only be produced in a Denali trim and will be built on the Ultium Platform. The official reveal will take place sometime in 2022 and the truck will be assembled at GM’s ZERO assembly plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan.
“Sierra Denali holds tremendous equity for GMC and our customers,” said Duncan Aldred, GMC vice president. “We now have an opportunity to evolve Sierra’s capabilities and technologies, as afforded by transitioning to an all-electric propulsion while also elevating the luxurious design and comfort associated with Denali.”
