The popular Ford Bronco Sport compact crossover SUV is built on the unibody C2 platform, which it shares with the Ford Escape crossover and the Maverick pickup. The Bronco Sport sold just under 130,000 units in the USA in 2023, and sales are on track in 2024 to reach, but likely not exceed that milestone. To further boost sales, Ford has announced significant updates for the 2025 Bronco Sport, including the introduction of the Sasquatch off-road package, new technology, and several design enhancements. Aimed at customers seeking a capable small SUV that can handle off-road adventures, the new Bronco Sport offers increased performance and versatility.
According to Matt Simpson, Ford Enthusiast Vehicles General Manager,
“Bronco Sport customers love the outdoors and go off-roading 3.5 times as often as the owners of competitive vehicles, and camping twice as often. They want to know they can overcome obstacles that come their way, which drove our designers and engineers to push Bronco Sport to a new level of capability and performance to let our customers do more and have more fun off-road.”
The Sasquatch package, now available for the Bronco Sport Badlands and Outer Banks models, elevates the vehicle’s off-road capabilities with features such as a twin-clutch rear-drive unit and locking rear differential. These enhancements, previously exclusive to the Badlands model, are now extended to the Outer Banks, providing a broader range of customers with access to improved all-terrain performance. The Sasquatch package also includes larger 29-inch Goodyear Territory All-Terrain tires designed specifically for the Bronco Sport to ensure traction across diverse surfaces.
The Bronco Sport Badlands and Badlands Sasquatch models are equipped with the new Rally GOAT (Goes Over Any Terrain) Mode to enhance off-road performance further. This mode offers better control at higher speeds on sandy terrains by holding gears longer and providing sharper throttle response. The models also feature Trail One-Pedal Drive, which allows drivers to control speed using only the accelerator, enhancing precision while rock crawling. The 2025 Bronco Sport also comes with a 360-degree Camera with Trail View, providing a comprehensive view of the surroundings during off-road excursions.
The 2025 Bronco Sport also introduces new class-exclusive Bilstein rear shocks with position-sensitive damping, which replaces the standard monotube off-road dampers on the Badlands model. These shocks offer a more comprehensive range of compression and rebound damping capabilities designed to absorb impacts at higher speeds and provide a smoother ride.
The vehicle’s ride height has been increased, with the Bronco Sport Badlands Sasquatch offering up to 8.3 inches of front suspension travel and 8.7 inches of rear suspension travel.
In addition to its off-road enhancements, the Bronco Sport’s design has been updated with new modular, accessory-ready front and rear bumpers, extra steel underbody protection, and an available interior grab handle. The vehicle also features a traditional rectangular Bronco grille, reinforcing its rugged appearance. The interior includes:
- The largest center display in its class;
- A 13.2-inch touchscreen with the SYNC 4 system;
- A 12.3-inch digital instrument display inspired by the Bronco Raptor.
Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is standard across all trims, offering a suite of advanced safety features such as auto high beam headlamps, blind spot information system, lane-keeping system, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and more.
For those not requiring the full capabilities of the Sasquatch package, the new Black Diamond Off-Road package is available for the Big Bend model. This package adds off-road features such as four recovery points, additional steel underbody protection, and increased towing capacity. The Bronco Sport also introduces several modular elements, such as accessory-ready points for brush bars and driving lights, allowing owners to customize their vehicles to suit their needs.
The 2025 Bronco Sport Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands models are expected to arrive at dealerships in November, with the Sasquatch package becoming available in the first quarter of 2025. Pricing for all models will be announced closer to their release dates; the base model 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has a starting price of $31,390.
