Field Tested: Gnara x Livsn EcoTrek Overalls

A person wearing a plaid shirt, olive waders, and a brown cap stands in a shallow creek, looking down. Their outfit resembles classic overalls, blending comfort and utility. Trees and rocks are blurred in the background.

The Gnara x Livsn EcoTrek Overalls are one of those rare pieces of outdoor clothing that feel genuinely designed for women who actually spend time outside. For a pair of technical, utilitarian overalls, they’re surprisingly comfortable, and I wear mine constantly, much to my husband’s disdain. He says I always look comfortable, but also like I’m heading out on a camping trip or fishing expedition. Made from a recycled nylon blend, they’re lightweight, stretchy, and relaxed enough for all-day wear.

Their standout feature on the trail is the patented GoFly zipper system, which makes bathroom breaks far easier without having to take off the entire overall. A zipper that runs from the lower front to the rear waistband provides ample access when needed. It’s especially useful when squatting or when paired with a portable urination device. I also love the adjustable bib straps, which use a quick snap release instead of a fiddly button. I was once stuck thigh-deep in a boggy Minnesota marsh, and I can confirm these overalls are both quick-drying and stain-resistant.

And then there are the pockets, so many pockets: between the front pen pockets, and ones for a phone and a large wallet, the side hand pockets with a hidden pouch on the left, two thigh EDC options, two rear zippered, and an additional zippered stash pocket, there’s a place for everything. I keep an EDC in one thigh pocket and bear spray in the other, and I’ve genuinely used every single one at some point. The only real drawback is the price, which is offset by constant use. Available in a men’s version as well.
