Featured Overland Teardrop Trailer :: Edgeout Trailer

edgeout rotomolded overland trailer

The Edgeout is the first overland travel trailer that we’ve featured with a completely rotomolded body (a world-first, according to Edgeout). The futuristic-looking teardrop is constructed from two separate components: a sleeping pod and a kitchen, both of which are single pieces of seamless LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) plastic. LLDPE is known for being flexible yet tough, two qualities that would seem ideally suited for building off-highway travel trailers.

The Edgeout has a sporty, aggressive look, with a two-tone color scheme and distinct geometric facets making up its exterior. On the inside, muted monotone finishes and upholstery are understated, with sleeping room for two on a queen-sized bed. An optional rooftop tent provides additional sleeping room for two adults.

The rear hatch of the Edgeout opens, in traditional teardrop style, revealing a kitchen counter, and slide-out storage.

Beyond its unique rotomolded construction, the Edgeout utilizes a conventional braked torsion bar suspension on a galvanized and stone-chipped Burquip chassis. The trailer’s GVM (gross vehicle mass) rating is 1350-kilograms, with a dry weight of 750-kilograms. That leaves 600-kilograms or 1322 pounds of payload for water, food, and the rest of your gear.

According to the manufacturer’s website, the base model of the Edgeout trailer includes the following features/appliances:

    • Full-sized spare w/ mounting bracket for the rear hatch
    • 3-kilogram propane bottle bracket
    • 9-liter on-demand propane water heater
    • Electric water pump and plumbing
    • Mosquito netting and canvas blackout curtains for both doors
    • Stargazer skylight w/ canvas blackout curtain
    • MK7 solar distribution panel (pre-wired for solar)
    • Kitchen lighting
    • Various 12-volt and USB
    • Dometic 2-burner HOB stove
    • Outdoor shower plumbed to hot water heater

Optional Accessories include:

    • Various awnings
    • Privacy cube (tent annex)
    • Front stabilizer feet x2

At this time, Edgeout doesn’t break down the pricing of their trailers online, however, I will update this article if I get additional information regarding cost.
