Factor 55 FlatLink

What happens when you take a team of experts with backgrounds in the aerospace, defense, and semi-conductor industries and mix in a shared love of off-roading? Factor 55 is what happens. Located in Boise, Idaho, Factor 55 designs and fabricates state of the art recovery products made to exacting standards for optimal performance. Their designs are innovative improvements on components which many overlanders may otherwise take for granted. Their latest product, the FlatLink, is a low profile folding shackle mount.

Machined from 6000 series billet aluminum, the FlatLink is designed to replace the traditional hook found on most winches. Those hooks, long since the standard, can cut and fray straps or allow them to escape during recovery. The FlatLink, when paired to a screw-pin shackle, is a much safer alternative. Compatible with steel and synthetic lines up to 3/8 inches in diameter, the cable eye is retained in the FlatLink by a 5/8 inch diameter grade-5 steel pin and is rated to 16,000 pounds. Rubber guards protect roller or Hawes type fairleads when the Flatlink is in its folded position.

What really sets Factor 55 apart from the competition is their dedication to their highly evolved design cycle. Using the most advanced computer systems available, they’re able to design and evaluate individual components before building prototypes. This allows them to best assess where material can be removed or added for maximum strength. By the time a Factor 55 product reaches the end user, it has been comprehensively tested and measured against the other products in the industry. Their finite understanding of material stresses and how it influences product design is matched only by their passion for off-roading and dedication to their customers. The FlatLink is just one more great product from a great group of people. Available in five colors, the FlatLink is made in the USA.
