Enduristan Debuts New Lightweight, Waterproof Monsoon EVO Luggage

Ready for the Monsoon? Enduristan USA is forecasting their new waterproof luggage line will be a big splash with adventure motorcyclists. The Monsoon EVO bags are prepared for the rain to fall, the mud to cake, and the snow to drift down on a ride, ensuring a dry camp and clean gear for the night. The newest Monsoon luggage comes in 34- and 24-liter sizes, which you can mix and match to suit your hauling needs—or your bike’s exhaust.

Still pressed for space? There’s no need to leave the espresso maker behind when you can add volume by attaching two Enduristan Fender Bags, XS Base Packs, or can/bottle holsters to the EVOs. Four places to attach the holsters—two for the Fender Bags (small or large) and two rows of cargo loops—should be sufficient to strap on the kitchen sink for washing up the espresso kit.

Welded from a tough three-layer fabric, EVOs are light as well as strong and require no inside liner to keep your gear dry and dust-free. Enduristan claims these Monsoons are the lightest frame-mount high-quality panniers on the market, with the size large bags ($450 each) weighing a smidge over 6 pounds apiece, and the small size ($420) just above 5.5 pounds. When not running with a full load, four compression straps will assist you in keeping the bags tight.

New mounting brackets are made from fiber-reinforced composite for extra strength, held fast to most 18mm racks with safety pins without the need for a mounting plate. Installation and removal are quick and easy. The EVOs also accept a lock, or a strap like the Steelcore 4.5-footer, for security against your bags leaving without you.

Enduristan’s 3-layer fabric is abrasion resistant, as proven on other Enduristan luggage, but the Monsoon Evo bags get additional protection for the inevitable tip-overs that adventures bring—edge reinforcement sewn to the the lower front of the roll-top bags.

Carriage off the bike is facilitated by soft-grip handles or the available deluxe should strap, while a bold red interior makes spotting the coffee stash among all the other gear much easier.

Arden’s first motorcycle was a Yamaha Enduro, obtained while in high school. It set the stage for decades of off-pavement exploration on dual-sports and adventure bikes. Camping in the middle of nowhere became his favorite pursuit. As a former whitewater river guide and National Park Service seasonal employee, Arden believes in wilderness, wildlife, and being kind to the earth. A self-taught writer who barely passed English classes, he has contributed adventure stories and tested motorcycles and accessories for Rider Magazine and other outlets for nearly 30 years. In that time, he’s worn out two KLR 650s and is currently following the road to the middle of nowhere on his Ténéré 700 and an aging but reliable DR-Z 400S.
