The Toyota Tundra is a pinnacle choice for travel and is beloved by the overlanding community. The latest third-gen model builds on the success of its predecessor but introduces key upgrades that include a chassis and engine shared with the new 300-Series Land Cruiser. Executive Publisher Scott Brady states, “The frame is fully boxed and precision reinforced to improve strength by 20 percent while reducing weight by 10 percent … Once on the highway, the ride quality, power, and handling all come together, making the 2022 Tundra responsive and stable at speed. Despite the improved handling, the ride is not busy or fatiguing. There is no question this is the most capable Tundra yet.” To this end, cue today’s 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited (10,899 miles), which features premium modifications and is topped with a fully equipped Alu-Cab camper. If this rig looks familiar, then you’re not alone, as it was originally built/showcased by Adventure Motors, a company highly regarded for its no-expense-spared and industry-leading overland builds. It was then uprated by today’s seller with a plethora of upgrades largely focused on enhancing the backcountry camping experience. It’s worth noting that this truck had an engine replacement at 9,265 miles as part of the third-gen manufacturer recall (this impacted a limited number of engines but was mass recalled as a preventative measure for customer peace of mind). It was an opportunity for the brand to step up, take responsibility, and replace at no cost to the owners, which is exactly what Toyota did. So, if you’re looking for a premier turnkey overland-ready Tundra at a fraction of what it would cost to recreate, look no further.

From the Seller:
“I purchased this Tundra from Adventure Motors with the intention of spending time out West and exploring Alaska, but life doesn’t always align with our plans. I’ve only put approximately 3,000 miles on it. I keep it in my heated/cooled barn, so it only sees weather when being used. The wrap does have some pinstripes and a few small dings, but all are very minor. The VIN was within the range that Toyota released that could have an engine with debris in it from manufacturing, and was part of the recall. I had Dry Ridge Toyota do the work (new engine) last summer, so it’s good to go. I’ve put just over 1,600 miles on it since the engine swap with zero issues. The camper is fully outfitted with Goose Gear cabinets, Dickinson Heater, water tank, and Redarc second battery management systems. Clean title in hand.”
