There’s no shortage of vehicles suitable for around the world travel, but a select few are considered pinnacle overland platforms. These include the Mercedes Geländewagen, Land Rover Defender, Nissan Patrol, and Toyota Land Cruiser. However, I’m confident that if we were to pitch these vehicles in a poll to our audience the latter would be a clear winner. A sentiment echoed by automotive journalist and Expedition Portal contributor Christophe Noel, stating, “Over the years I have come to accept a peculiar truth as part of the general Land Cruiser culture. While there are few for whom the Land Cruiser is not a desirous thing, there are virtually none who genuinely dislike it, or deny it due respect. That speaks volumes to the validity of the Land Cruiser as a trusted overland platform.” The 200 Series is no exception and was (and perhaps still is) the most durable Land Cruiser ever built—not my words but those of the lead Land Cruiser engineer. The Expeditions 7 team had traveled to Japan to collect the vehicles for the trip and while Toyota appreciated their reasons for opting for the 70 Series they were quick to state that the 200 Series was the toughest and most rigorously tested iteration to date. Needless to say, it’s one of the most desirable vehicles for overland travel, and today’s offering is the holy grail. Cue this 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser URJ200 Heritage Edition “Expeditions 7 South America,” which features only 27 miles and showcases extensive premium upgrades and a full Maltec camper conversion with pass-through access.
This is the last one of seven exclusive builds to commemorate the seven continents and will not be produced again.
From the Seller:
More than a decade ago, the adventurers of Expeditions 7 traveled the Earth’s seven continents in a special fleet of Land Cruisers. They covered over 58,000 miles on some of the world’s most iconic routes and brought home a lifetime of experiences. In recent years, the adventure team began asking themselves what a second lap around the globe would look like. What vehicle would get the job done? The E7 200M was born from experience and lessons learned driving the original E7 vehicles around the world. The team analyzed what worked well, what could be improved upon, and built the dream on the US spec 2021 URJ200 Land Cruiser. Only seven turn-key vehicles have been produced to commemorate the seven continents. These ultimate overlanding vehicles are ready to ship to any continent, unload, and depart on short or long-range exploration. The driving mission for the E7 200M vehicles is to put expedition-ready trucks into the hands of passionate people who will seek their own adventures.
