Toyota FJ Cruiser

Today’s FJ Cruiser Trail Teams (155,000 miles) with the 6-speed manual transmission has to be one of the most desirable examples we’ve featured. It’s a popular choice on our forum with recent expedition-equipped offerings including this 2007, 2009 Supercharged, and 2012. It was first unveiled as a concept vehicle at the 2003 Detroit Motor Show but was such a hit that shortly after, it was put into production. The model’s success is hardly surprising considering its legitimate all-terrain credentials, heavy-duty Prado chassis (as depended on by frontline agencies), bulletproof 1GR-FE V6 (as used in the Tacoma, 4Runner, and Tundra), and handsome good looks. There’s no shortage of inspiring builds online from the likes of Outbound Intent, Rogue Overland, and Mountain State Overland. Despite its modest footprint, it serves as a fantastic international travel vehicle, as demonstrated by the adventures of Independence Overland.

From the Seller:

Owned by a family of Toyota enthusiasts, this 2008 FJ Cruiser is a unique special-edition Trail Teams that’s adventure-ready and perfect for overlanding—though it rarely left the pavement under my ownership. Originally from Texas, it was primarily stored and only driven on warm Michigan summer days, keeping it in pristine condition. The 6-speed manual transmission offers an engaging driving experience, and the subtle FJ40-inspired design cues give it a timeless, rugged look. Tasteful upgrades like the ARB bumper, Warn winch, and ARB air compressor make it ready for any challenge.”
