Toyota 4runner

In a recent article, we celebrated 40 Years of the Toyota 4Runner. Since its release in 1984, it has gone from strength to strength, with the much anticipated six-gen model being unveiled earlier this year. In a recent Overland Journal podcast, Scott Brady stated that the 4Runner remains in first place in his Top Ten SUVs for Overlanding. Subsequently, it’s a very popular option on our forum, with recent examples including a 1999 SR5, a 2005 Limited, and a 2014 Toyota Trail. Each iteration had its own benefits and, indeed, shortcomings, with today’s second-generation iteration being favored for its exceptionally long-lived 4.7-liter V8 (also found in the Land Cruiser). The second-gen was the first test vehicle loaned to Expedition Portal and was, in part, the inspiration for establishing the Overland Journal. Cue today’s 126,500-mile 2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited, which showcases desirable factory options and a wealth of aftermarket modifications. In addition, it benefited from a refreshed paint job just last year (at the cost of $8,670) and is subsequently rust-free.

From the Seller:

Up for sale is an extremely clean and unique 2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited V8 with very low miles (currently at 126,500). This vehicle was in California since day one of its journey, and to this day, it’s kept in mint condition. It was originally owned by a Toyota technician from whom I purchased it originally years ago. I am also a Master Certified Toyota Technician. So, the car was in good hands and well taken care of. Whoever buys this truck will be very happy and appreciative.”
