2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited :: Classifieds – SOLD

Toyota 4Runner

The 4Runner is a legendary 4WD and remains one of the best options for overland travel, with recent adventure-equipped offerings including this 2000 Limited, 2005 Sport, and 2015 Trail Edition. However, at just $9,500, today’s 2002 Toyota 4Runner Limited (300,000 miles) is one of the best values to date, despite boasting desirable upgrades. While the mileage is relatively high, it has recently undergone the best part of $10,000 in maintenance and has performed flawlessly as the seller’s daily driver. The third gen marked a significant evolution of the model, especially pertaining to travel, with up to a 1,800-pound payload and the exceptionally long-lived 5VZ-FE V6 (a powerplant used in a wide array of Toyota trucks and 4WDs). It also utilized the same architecture as the J90 Prado and Land Cruiser II, which is ideally suited for overlanding, as it was engineered from the factory to endure backcountry punishment. It was for these reasons and more that Expedition Portal chose this iteration as a Project Vehicle and extensively tested it for more than a decade. It also remains a desirable choice for the community with no shortage of builds online from the likes of Xandera, Adventures with Smitty, and Mountain Yotas.

From the Seller:

“Clean title in hand. 300,000 miles, which will increase as it’s my daily. Pearl white paint in great condition. No clear coat issues and no rust. New rack and pinion, radiator, and timing belt installed prior to me purchasing from the original owner last year. I have $8,800 in receipts from the last couple of years. All work done in the last 30,000 miles. I have driven this vehicle daily since January 2024. Zero issues. It’s my favorite vehicle to drive, but the new Grenadier purchase means it needs to go.”
