2014 Subaru Forester :: Classifieds

Subaru Forester

We’ve featured several affordable rigs recently, and today’s well-maintained (148,000) 2014 Subaru Forester is no exception. Despite showcasing premium aftermarket upgrades and a well-equipped interior, this rugged AWD is priced at just $8,500. Sure, the Forester does have its limitations when leaving the tarmac but it will comfortably handle most maintained backcountry roads and can be further uprated for technical terrain (reference Scott Brady’s Baseline Mods for the Subaru Forester). If you’d like a better idea of how this vehicle can be outfitted for adventure then check out feature builds from FozRoamer and Chazz Layne. However, what makes the Forester so special is that, unlike many modified 4WDs, it remains a comfortable daily driver and is quiet, civilized, and frugal on long journeys. Sure, there are more capable vehicles out there, but in reality, most of us won’t be driving the Rubicon Trail and will instead be traversing paved roads and well-maintained backcountry routes. Still not convinced? Check out drool-worthy builds from Soft Roading the West, Chase Schrader, and Bugout Fozzy

From the Seller:

This vehicle has been modified to complement my mountain biking, snowboarding, and camping hobbies. Below is a complete list of modifications and maintenance I have done over the last five years I’ve owned the Forester. This would be the perfect commuter for someone in this community looking to retain the overland style day-to-day and bring their fridge along with them.”
