It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the Xterra because it remains one of the best-value 4WDs on the market. We’ve showcased various adventure-ready offerings, including this $9,500 2003, a $5,100 2004, and a $26,000 2015 Pro 4X. Today’s tastefully appointed 2009 Nissan Xterra Off Road (171,xxx) is the cheapest to date at just $4,500 OBO. At this price, it’s not only the most affordable Xterra we’ve featured but one of the best value rigs we’ve showcased, period. Simply add a DIY bed platform, sleeping bag, camp stove, basic supplies, and hit the road. As someone who has lived on the road for a decade, my strongest advice is to buy a budget rig like this and just go. It’s easy to get locked into an expensive vehicle build that drains all your disposable income (believe me, I know) when that money would be better spent on travel. However, just because it’s cheap does not mean this is a faux 4WD, because the Xterra is a proven vehicle with legitimate backcountry chops. From the Seller:
“Selling my 2009 Nissan Xterra Off-Road. I’m the original owner. It’s got some trail rash on the passenger rear door. It was in an accident, and the other person’s insurance company totaled it. However, it does have a clean title, and the airbags did not deploy. It was struck from the right side in the rear quarter panel, and that is what damaged the outside quarter panel step. If you’d like more detailed info or pictures, please DM me.”
