Mercedes Sprinter 4x4

The Sprinter 4×4 is a favorite amongst vanlifers and overlanders alike, and for good reason. From the factory, the model boasts an impressive AWD system, considerable payload, a well-appointed cab interior, and a dependable motor and drivetrain. It’s the aftermarket darling and can be transformed into a legitimate around-the-world overland vehicle. To this end, cue today’s 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 4×4 170, which boasts a wide array of premium upgrades and an exceptionally well-equipped camper interior. Fully built 170s such as this are something of a rarity on the forum, and very desirable for those committing to a long-term trip, transitioning to life on the road, or travelling as a family (as demonstrated by Expedition Portal’s Overlanders of the Year, 2023, Mali Mish). It’s a great option for those seeking a compromise between smaller truck campers/vans and much larger and prohibitively expensive expedition trucks, providing comparable drivability to the former, with many of the same amenities and comforts of the latter. The additional length enables a wide array of configurations, with this example incorporating belted swivel seating for four, a fully equipped galley kitchen, and a large double bed with an underslung garage area.

Sprinter 170 4x4 overlandFrom the Seller:

“This is a very well-equipped 170 Sprinter van that is ready for adventures both off and on road. It was built by Peak 10 Customs in Loveland, Colorado. It has so many features that I’m probably forgetting something; if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m OCD about my vehicles, and had the van wrapped with a clear self-healing Xpel wrap, so there are no pinstripes or scratches. The van sleeps three with the fold-down seats and four with a blow-up mattress in the large garage area. I have decided to go the truck camper route because I’ll be pulling a large trailer with a pretty heavy load. The van has always been stored in a covered unit and maintained extremely well. I have all the receipts for the work done on the van. I will be keeping the recovery boards, auxiliary gas tank, and any recovery equipment on the van.”
