We’ve featured some monster rigs on Expedition Portal, but this has to be one of the most impressive to date. Right out of the gate, I commend the vision for this one-of-one 2016 International 4300 (115,243 miles) since it was built with intention and in all regards has been constructed to be a legitimate off-grid rolling home. Unlike some expedition trucks that have been overbuilt with the illusion of “crawler” capability, this truck focuses on luxurious off-grid comfort and will comfortably house six adults. That’s not to say this rig isn’t built to withstand the rigors of the backcountry; it boasts a heavy-duty 4WD conversion by Tulsa Truck Manufacturing and a plethora of rugged upgrades. At $304,999, this is not a budget vehicle, but in the world of luxury expedition trucks, it’s a fraction of what you’d expect to pay for a comparable build from the likes of industry giants EarthRoamer, Global Expedition Vehicles, or SLRV. Further still, the build specs are in no way inferior with a premium German-made Box Manufaktur habitation box and huge amenities that include a 2,400 amp hour lithium house battery system, 2,000 watts of solar, 140 gallons of freshwater with multi stage filtration, four-season climate control, a bespoke custom interior using premium materials, and much more. It’s worth noting that a lot of consideration was given during the build process to allow flexibility for future modifications and personalization, and detailed maintenance records are available upon request.

From the Seller:
“This rig combines a robust chassis with a world-class, German-engineered Box Manufaktur FRP Composite habitat, and is intended for extended, self-sufficient travel in comfort. The rig is underpinned by a 2016 International 4300 Crew Cab chassis, which is powered by the reliable 6.7-liter Cummins diesel and has been further uprated with a comprehensive 4×4 conversion by Tulsa Truck Manufacturing in 2020. Complete maintenance records are available, showcasing meticulous care.”

2016 International 4300 Crew Cab 4×4
The 4300 is fitted with a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel motor that, depending on factory configuration, produces between 200-300 horsepower and a considerable 520-660 pound-feet of torque; it’s mated to an Allison 6-speed automatic transmission (impressive range provided via a 100-gallon tank). A powerful motor is matched with outstanding capability thanks to a heavy-duty 4WD system, high and low range, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), an automatic tire inflation system, and full air suspension. These rugged attributes are balanced with a well-equipped cab with driver comforts that include:
