GMC Sierra

The GMC Sierra is a model we know and love at Expedition Portal since it was our first full-size project vehicle. After extensive field testing Executive Publisher Scott Brady concluded, “I have driven the Sierra 29,000 miles, usually loaded with the camper, which I spent two months living out of. Most days, I was off-highway, exploring an area or finding a campsite. During that time, we did not have a single warranty claim and have experienced no failures in the truck or camper. Even 10 years ago, the thought of remote travel using a full-size truck was often frowned upon, the naysayer espousing the limitations of big trucks in technical terrain, the lack of aftermarket support, or their suitability for international travel. In reality, the full-size revolution is here to stay, and I am a naysayer turned believer as our two-year Sierra project comes to a close.” From the factory, this model is engineered for heavy commercial work with attributes that are also ideally suited to overlanding; these include a body-on-frame architecture, a heavy-duty 4WD system, considerable payload, and a well-appointed cab interior. In addition, with the support of industry leaders such as AEV (American Expedition Vehicles) it enjoys access to a huge array of premium aftermarket parts and accessories that elevate backcountry performance and meet or exceed manufacturer testing standards. With this in mind, cue today’s ultra-low mileage 2025 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4×4 (11,300 miles), which was optioned out from the factory with the X31 Off Road Package, SLE Convenience Package, Preferred Package, SLE Heated Package, Pro Safety Package, and more. This pinnacle foundation was then further optimized from the ground up for overlanding by the team at Mule Expedition Outfitters and topped with a Four Wheel Campers Project M. This stunning rig was curated by seasoned overlander Nick Jaynes, who is well regarded for his no-expense-spared builds, with today’s offering being no exception. Finally, at $67,000 OBO, this turnkey package represents impressive value and is available with no lead time for your next adventure.

GMC Sierra From the Seller:

“I built this truck for extended backcountry expeditions—the kind where you’re off-grid for weeks at a time and need a rig that’s completely self-sufficient. Starting with a 2025 Sierra 2500 HD Regular Cab, I worked with MULE Expedition Outfitters in Tualatin, Oregon, to turn it into what is essentially a Regular Cab Sierra HD AEV Edition, topped with a Four Wheel Camper Project M. The build philosophy was simple: proven components, professional installation, and no compromises. The FWC Project M sits on a BedRug-lined bed and includes the Thermal Pack, a 4-inch mattress, and a Dometic CFX-5 55IM fridge on a slide-out—everything you need for comfortable long-term living. The truck has 11,300 miles and has performed flawlessly. I’m selling because my plans evolved: I’m going full-time on the road, and that shift in lifestyle means different vehicle requirements. This rig deserves someone who will use it as intended.”
