2022 Ford F-450 Platinum w/ FX4 Off Road Package :: Featured Classified

Ford F-450

With more opportunities than ever to work remotely, there’s never been a better time to take that big trip or transition to life on the road. To this end, full-size trucks are optimal since they boast the payload necessary to safely transport multiple occupants and a fully outfitted camper or habitation box (learn more on the Overland Journal Podcast). From the factory, they’re over-engineered to endure the daily punishment of heavy commercial work with rugged attributes that are ideally suited to the rigors of overlanding. Ford’s F-Series continues to dominate the segment and has been the best-selling truck range in America for 47 consecutive years. During this time, the lineup has been in a constant state of evolution, which is why the latest models are class-leading. With this in mind, cue today’s low-mileage 2022 Ford F-450 (37,520 miles), which has been optioned out from the factory with the Platinum Trim and FX4 Off Road Package, and then reimagined with a plethora of premium aftermarket parts and accessories. The build specifications for this rig are extensive, so I recommend referencing the original listing for full details, but in short, this would serve as a pinnacle expedition camper platform. In all regards, this F-450 has been optimized for backcountry travel with a super single wheel conversion, front locker, Carli Suspension, armor, and more. Inside, the Platinum Trim provides sumptuous luxury and is more akin to a luxury SUV than an expedition vehicle. At $145,000, this package represents impressive value, and the seller discloses that the asking price reflects a $50,000 savings on what it would cost to recreate. So, if you’re in the market for a turnkey expedition platform at a huge discount with no lead time and backed by an extended manufacturer’s warranty, then look no further.

This F-450 has been upgraded extensively to improve drivability, durability, and self-reliance while preserving the core strengths that make the F-450 a benchmark for heavy-duty trucks. It was built for recovery, overlanding, or hauling heavy loads through austere environments. It’s a heavy-duty platform, elevated. The F-450 Super Duty sits at the top of Ford’s pickup lineup, engineered for high GVWR ratings, confident towing, and long-distance durability.”
