Ford F-350

The F-350 is a firm favorite for overland builds on the forum, with recent examples including this 2004 w/ Cummins diesel conversion and a Bison Overland Flatbed camper, a 2015 XLT w/ XP Camper V1, and a 2016 XLT FX4 w/ Four Wheel Campers Raven. Full-size trucks such as this are optimal for travel since they provide more power, comfort, payload, and towing capacity than their mid-size counterparts. Publisher Scott Brady states, “When we first started Overland Journal, the compact pickup was by far the most popular choice for overlanding, but that gap is quickly narrowing with full-size variants. The reason is simple—big trucks are more capable than ever before, and they have the payload to haul more than a few passengers and a basket of groceries.” With this in mind, the F-350 is optimal, which is why it’s the platform of choice for professional overland vehicle builders such as Nimbl, Tiger Adventure Vehicles, Freedom Overland, and Tactical Application Vehicles. If you’d like to better understand the realities of travel with the F-350, check out builds from Ross Robinson, Main Line Overland, and Wolfpac Outdoors. Cue today’s 2002 Ford F-350 Crew Longbed (162,000 miles), which boasts the legendary 7.3-liter Power Stroke diesel motor and a plethora of premium upgrades. From the Seller:

“This truck was only used for camping and hunting. The interior has some wear but is in good condition, considering its age. I have always maintained this vehicle, and at 154,000 miles, I fitted a new transmission, bigger turbo, new radiator, overflow tank, and just recently had the rear brakes done and a full service with a new digital gauge for temperatures, etc. I hate to sell, but I recently bought a small Class C motorhome 4×4 to fit my needs. Cash only, no trades, no scammers or lowballers, please; any reasonable offer will be considered. The truck is in great shape and ready for your offroad adventures.”
