F-350 4x4 Tiger Bengal

Tiger Adventure Vehicles has a cult-like following, and subsequently, it’s rare to see them come up for sale. The company, based in Columbia, South Carolina, has been engineering go-anywhere campers since 1991. The popularity of these expedition trucks is, first and foremost, a testament to their build quality, attention to detail, and backcountry credentials. But beyond that, I would argue they’re the perfect size. Sure, larger options like the EarthRoamer and EarthCruiser provide elevated luxury, but this is at a considerable cost in terms of drivability, running (and purchase) cost, and oftentimes access to narrower trails. The Tiger Bengal finds a sweet spot that offers all the luxury of home within a relatively compact footprint. Today’s 2008 Ford F-350 4×4 Tiger Bengal with 160,000 miles is a stunning example and showcases an array of tasteful upgrades and a well-equipped camper interior. In addition, at $65,000 OBO, it’s priced very competitively when you consider the last 2009 example we showcased was advertised at $85,000 (and the base price for the latest iteration is $135,000). If you’d like a better idea of how this platform performs as a full-time rolling home, check out Doug and Fran’s 2005 Tiger CX, which they’ve used to travel the Americas for six years.
