Ford F-350

It’s easy to become starry-eyed about the latest and greatest rigs and gear when, in reality, we don’t need much to hit the road and have the experiences of a lifetime. In 2024, I bought a 1992 Mitsubishi Delica L300 4×4 for under $7,000 and lived/traveled Europe in it for almost a year with little more than a bed platform and a house battery system—it was transformative. Consequently, I love seeing budget-friendly vehicles on the forum with recent offerings, including this $10,500 2000 Range Rover P38, $10,500 2001 Toyota Land Cruiser, and $7,000 2010 Chevrolet Express 1500 AWD. Today I’m back with another bargain: a 2022 Ford F-350 Lariat (236,000 miles), which is priced at just $10,500 OBO and would serve as the perfect blank canvas for a full overland buildout. With its “million-mile” 7.3 Power Stroke diesel, heavy-duty 4WD system, well-appointed interior, and considerable payload, it is well-suited to the rigors of the backcountry and enjoys access to huge aftermarket support. Consequently, no two builds are the same, as demonstrated by adventure-ready rigs from the likes of AwildTuan, 4WD 24-7, and Jon Burtt

Ford F-350From the Seller:

This F-350 is completely stock, has not been tuned, and serves as the ultimate grandpa truck. It runs great, shifts well, and is an absolute treat to drive. Clean slate for a 1-ton camper setup. The body has some imperfections, which are expected for a truck of this age. It recently enjoyed an oil change, new fuel and air filters, new oil-cooler seals, and a rear oil-cooler mount. I have a clean title in hand.

The F-350 is fitted with the bulletproof 7.3-liter Power Stroke motor that produces 215 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque (some examples were uprated from the factory to 225 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque). An exceptionally long-lived engine is matched with impressive capability, thanks to 4WD, high and low range, armor, solid axles, all-terrain tires, and manual locking front hubs. Inside, these rugged attributes are balanced with driver comforts that include:

  • Power steering, windows, and locks
