Ford E-350 4x4

The E-350 4×4 is the most popular van on our forum, with recent examples including this 2006 Econoline, a 2006 with a Stahl Service Body and pop top, and a 2008 Sportsmobile. A “million-mile” motor, generous interior living space, and impressive capability are just some of the reasons this platform is so desirable for travel. Today’s 2003 Ford E-350 (314,000 miles) showcases a U-Joint Offroad 4×4 conversion, extensive aftermarket upgrades, and a well-equipped camper interior. With more opportunities than ever to work remotely, live-in rigs such as this have never been so popular. The ability to buy this rig at a competitive $34,000, live in it full-time (removing many of life’s overheads), earn a living while traveling, and then sell a few years later for the majority of what you paid makes this a great investment. If you’d like to learn more about this rugged 4WD van, check out builds from U-Joint Offroad Colorado, Primal Outdoors, and B Roll Offroad.

From the Seller:

Our primary goal was to build a vehicle to support our project of traveling the US, collecting data and imagery of rock climbing areas. The design was intended to respect and repurpose the ‘ambulance’ systems wherever they were useful or just fun. We lived in this van full-time for 18 months in 2017-2018 and traveled to 49 US states and three Canadian provinces—over 40,000 miles. As rock climbers, having a 4WD van was a game-changer for accessing crags in the most remote parts of the country.”
