Ford E-350 4x4

The E-350 is a firm favorite on the forum, with recent offerings including this 2000 model, 2010 military shuttle bus, and 2021 Ford E-350 Field Van Classic. Four-wheel-drive vans, such as this one, are popular because they offer generous interior living space, a modest external footprint, and impressive capability. Whereas many vans are restricted to AWD, the E-Series enjoys access to comprehensive 4WD conversions, which transform this 2WD commercial icon into an around-the-world overland rig (reference the international adventures of Daniela Wagner). If you’d like a better idea of how this vehicle can be outfitted for exploration, then check out backcountry-ready builds from the likes of Phelps on the Fly, Ally and Lance, and Ujoint Offroad Colorado. Cue today’s 2003 Ford E-350 (298,000 miles), which showcases tasteful upgrades, an Advanced 4WD conversion, and the bulletproof 7.3-liter Power Stroke diesel motor. At $22,000, this rig represents impressive value, and even though it requires some work (see original listing for details), it is very fairly priced.

Ford E-350 4x4 From the Seller:

I really don’t want to sell this, but due to my moving in a few months and some other personal reasons, I need to at least list it for sale. The van needs a water pump; I would do the job, and even started to, but my real job has me way too busy. So, the asking price reflects this. If you know what you’re looking at, you will understand the prices these vans go for, especially being a professionally converted 4×4 rig by one of the ‘big 3’ (UJOR, Quigley, or, in this case, Advanced 4WD in Utah). If it were fixed, I’d be selling it for $25,000 firm. Come trailer it, and worst case, have a good shop do it for no more than $1,000. Club wagon with an absolutely unbelievable exterior and interior, it is in crazy-good condition.”

The E-350 is fitted with the legendary 7.3-liter Power Stroke diesel that, in stock form, produces 215 horsepower and 425 pound-feet of torque (some examples were uprated from factory to 225 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque). An exceptionally long-lived motor is matched with impressive capability thanks to a heavy-duty 4WD system, high and low range, a lifted and uprated suspension, and manual locking front hubs. Inside, these rugged attributes are balanced with driver comforts that include:

  • Captain’s chairs
  • Air-conditioning
  • Cup holders
  • Aftermarket stereo with reverse camera
  • Cruise control

Ford 4x4 Distinguishing Features
