2015 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV “The White Rhino” :: Featured Classified

Chevrolet Tahoe PPV overland build

This is the first Tahoe we’ve featured in our classifieds section, and it has to be one of the most impressive overland builds we’ve ever showcased. There’s a fundamental difference between a rig with big tires and a lift and a vehicle where every nut and bolt from the ground up has been carefully selected for optimal performance. The WRōV, or White Rhino Overland Vehicle, is one such example, and even comes with a beautifully curated user guide, website, and Expedition Portal forum threadThe Tahoe may not be the first vehicle that comes to mind when we think about adventure travel, but it is a legitimate option, thanks to a 1,595-pound payload, powerful 5.3-liter EcoTec V8 motor, and a plethora of all-terrain features that include a factory rear E-locker. If you’d like to see just what this platform is capable of when the tarmac ends, then check out the adventures of Overlanding Tahoe. Despite its huge build spec, today’s 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV (136,000 miles) is priced at just $38,000.

From the Seller:

This is my fifth and final overland vehicle build, a turn-key, purpose-built truck. Since the GM K2XX platform is a rare overland conversion, I’ve dubbed it the White Rhino Overland Vehicle, shortened to the acronym WRōV to brand the build. There’s been some confusion as to whether this is a model offering from Chevrolet. It is not.

I built the WRōV to meet our adventure and off-road needs. Aside from its excellent off-road abilities and comprehensive recovery package, it sleeps two on a custom platform/insert and has a full kitchen with hot/cold running water, a shower, twin onboard air compressors, and more. I’ve logged 36,000 miles on it since its purchase mileage of 100,000 miles. Mantle cell lymphoma forces sale.”

The Tahoe is fitted with a 5.3-liter V8 motor that, in stock form, produces 355 horsepower, 383 pound-feet of torque, and returns a combined 18 mpg. However, today’s seller states that the uprated offering delivers 380 horsepower, 411 pound-feet of torque, and returns an average “13.7 mpg.” A powerful motor is matched with impressive capability, thanks to 4WD, high and low range, a rear locking differential, skid plates, and more. Inside, the Chevrolet showcases a well-equipped interior with driver comforts that include:

  • Front and rear cameras with a WolfBox 12-inch rear screen
  • Cruise control
  • Air-conditioning
  • Power steering, locks, windows, and mirrors
