2024 Patriot Campers X2 Gen2 Tourer Camper :: Featured Classified

Patriot Campers

At the Overland Collective, we’ve often advocated that the best travel vehicle is the one you already own. In other words, you don’t need a heavily modified 4WD or truck to explore (obviously there are advantages to platforms such as these), and there have been countless around-the-world trips completed by daily drivers. Another benefit of this approach is that you focus your disposable income on getting out there and “doing the thing,” rather than pouring money into a dedicated rig that ultimately delays you from hitting the road. However, we also understand that some vehicles have limitations or become less suitable as circumstances change. Fortunately, overland trailers/campers are a fantastic solution and provide many of the same amenities and freedoms as a dedicated overland truck, but at a fraction of the price and running costs. They’re also generally self-contained and can be seamlessly reset and stored when not in use. There’s no shortage of expedition-ready offerings on the market, but for many, including the XOverland team, Patriot Campers continue to set the benchmark. Established in Queensland, Australia, by avid off-road enthusiast and fabricator Justin Montgomery, who recognized a distinct lack of rugged camping trailers capable of enduring the rigors of the outback. The result was the X1, a trailer designed to match the capability/access of a 4WD and built to survive years of extreme use. Over the years, the lineup has continued to evolve, but the core principles of uncompromising backcountry durability, performance, and off-grid autonomy have remained the same. With this in mind, cue today’s 2024 Patriot Campers X2 Gen2 Tourer Camper, which incorporates more than a decade of real world testing and development, and is without question a pinnacle overland trailer/camper. Highlights include 2,050 liters of integrated storage, a lithium house battery system with solar, independent coil suspension, 39 gallons of freshwater (with a hot water system), an awning, integrated rooftop tent, and more. At $39,500, it represents impressive value when you consider that this model costs ~$50,000 new and this particular example enjoys more than $10,000 in factory options.

“Selling my 2024 Patriot X2 Gen2 Tourer Off-Road Camper, which has minimal use. It was bought new in 2025 and used about 3 times, so it’s essentially brand new without the wait or the dealer price. It boasts over $10,000 in factory options and accessories that were added at purchase.”

Built to conquer the toughest terrains, the X2 Tourer is the lightest camper trailer in the Patriot Campers range, weighing in at a super light dry tare weight of 1,873 pounds. It incorporates a world-first, patent-pending body panel construction. This method features composite components bonded to sheet metal to provide maximum flexibility and strength in a monocoque construction. There is no welding anywhere in the design of the body, which ensures the longevity of moving components susceptible to metal fatigue. In addition, it features an integrated A-Frame style hard shell rooftop tent with dual entry points, large zippable windows (2), and a large window that rolls out from the front of the camping trailer for optimal airflow. Additional highlights include interior/exterior LED lighting, an awning, exterior L-Shape kitchen, rear storage slide, Redarc Redvision system, large freshwater tank (with hot water), furnace, “multi-room” layout, and more.
