The Toyota Tundra, in any iteration, is a pinnacle overland platform and remains a figurehead of the North American overlanding community. For many, the second generation remains best of the breed and is the most popular model to date, with ~1.7 million units sold. This is no coincidence; it reflects its reputation for excellence, forged over its exceptionally long 15-year production run. It shares the same beating heart as the legendary 200-Series Land Cruiser: a bulletproof 5.7-liter V8 that regularly achieves a half-million-mile service life. It’s also the aftermarket darling with a huge array of parts, accessories, and services to further optimize this truck for exploration. It was for these reasons and more that it was the vehicle of choice for Senior Editor Ashley Giordano (and husband/legendary videographer, Richard) of Desk to Glory for their around-the-world expedition. With this in mind, cue today’s low-mileage 2021 Toyota Tundra Platinum CrewMax 4×4 (41,789 miles), which has been reimagined with a plethora of premium aftermarket upgrades and topped with a well-appointed Super Pacific X1 camper. This stunning rig has been meticulously maintained and was professionally assembled by Wanderlust Overland. It’s also worth noting that, being the 2021 model, this example represents the second generation’s swan song, which means it benefits from over a decade of fine-tuning and optimization (not to mention this particular offering has been optioned out from the factory).

From the Seller:
“Selling my 2021 Toyota Tundra Platinum CrewMax 4×4 in Silver Sky Metallic. This complete overland setup combines the 5.7-liter V8 and comfortable Platinum interior with a Super Pacific X1 camper, integrated camping equipment, and extensive upgrades for travel and recovery. The X1 includes a RoamRest folding mattress and roof-mounted solar. House power comes from a 200-amp-hour Kota Lithium LiFePO4 battery, with Redarc equipment, a RedVision display, inverter, and outlets. A Dometic fridge on an extending slide provides accessible cold storage. Camping equipment includes a 23Zero Peregrine 270-degree awning with walls, shower enclosure, RinseKit Pro, water container, fuel cans, and propane tank. The suspension comprises Old Man Emu BP-51 shocks and Ironman heavy-load rear leaf springs. An ARB rear air locker adds traction, while Method 703 wheels are fitted with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 315/70R17 tires. The tires have been maintained through a five-tire rotation; tire-set mileage matches the truck. Protection and recovery equipment includes a CBI front bumper, Expedition One rear bumper with dual swing-out carriers, RCI sliders and skid plates, a Warn winch, and Factor 55 hardware. An ARB twin compressor, remote air couplings, MORRFlate inflation kit, and MaxTrax boards complement the setup. Baja Designs lighting and Switch-Pros controls provide extensive auxiliary illumination. I’m the second owner and purchased the truck already built out by Wanderlust Overland. Maintenance records from both owners document a consistent schedule. The truck is in excellent cosmetic condition, with no known cosmetic flaws, and was ceramic-coated when new. All listed and pictured equipment is included except the Roam cargo box and the Kuat swing-out hitch. An outstanding lender lien will be handled through coordinated payoff and title release. Buyer inspections can be arranged.”
