The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon is one of the most capable and innovative overland platforms on the market, blending legendary all-terrain performance with modern plug-in hybrid technology. From the factory, it boasts pinnacle overland credentials, including a body-on-frame chassis, solid axles, locking differentials, an electronic sway bar disconnect, and a low-range transfer case. It’s also the aftermarket darling with a huge ecosystem of parts, accessories, and services readily available to uprate it for travel. With the support of companies such as Ursa Minor and Goose Gear, it can be converted to the ultimate go-anywhere micro camper (reference builds from the likes of Pitcairn Overland, Viajar Moto, and The Road Chose Me). It was for these reasons and more that it was chosen as an Expedition Portal Project Vehicle, with Executive Publisher Scott Brady stating, “For this new project, we wanted to try a list of new products and approaches that had not crossed our keyboards. For that, we chose our first EV platform with the Wrangler 4xe, one of the most popular 4WD EVs sold today. It not only has a 20+ mile all-electric range, but it also benefits from hybrid fuel efficiency and still has a turbo-charged four-cylinder gas engine … the other thing I love about Jeep 4xe models is the silent off-road driving. When in low-range and crawling, I select electric only, and almost all of the noise drops away.” Cue today’s ultra-low-mileage 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon (5,000 miles), which was optioned out from the factory and showcases a plethora of premium aftermarket modifications. At $75,000, it represents impressive value since the seller estimates it would cost in excess of $100,000 to recreate, and the vehicle/upgrades are practically new. It’s also worth noting that the model was part of a battery recall, which has since been replaced and comes with a lifetime warranty for complete peace of mind.

From the Seller:
“I’m selling as we simply do not have the time to enjoy it. Many key upgrades have been completed, so it’s ready for adventure. I’m asking $75,000; the Jeep was $65,000 and fully loaded from the dealership, but on top of that, it has an extended warranty for seven years/100,000 miles, and a LoJack system with an added $30,000 warranty if not recovered or destroyed. I wanted a rig capable of spending almost unlimited time in the wilderness when combined with an off-road trailer. The hybrid setup gives extra torque when pulling up a grade and taking off from a stop, plus it saves brakes on steep declines. The other objective was to be able to fit the Jeep inside the garage with a rooftop tent attached, which was accomplished with a Go Fast Camper. The tent holds inflatable pillows, inflatable bedding, a blanket, and the ladder. I did not keep a tab on the price of parts, but I’m sure it would cost in excess of $100,000 to recreate. It has been on a couple of local trips and performed flawlessly. It has always been garaged.”
