EarthRoamer XV-LT

Since 1998, EarthRoamer has been producing no-expense-spared luxury expedition vehicles that seamlessly balance backcountry capability with uncompromising interior luxury. Over the past three decades, these overlanding goliaths have remained in a constant state of evolution, but the core mission has remained: to access remote camp spots and stay for extended periods courtesy of huge amenities and comforts. The Overland Collective has field-tested various EarthRoamers, with automotive journalist Christophe Noel stating, “An EarthRoamer is, if anything, a superlative generator. Everything about it exudes the pursuit of refinement and capability. Expressly designed to provide the most comfortable accommodations perched atop a formidable off-road platform, it is a travel experience like none other.” It was for these reasons and more that our very own Matt Scott decided to buy one as his primary expedition vehicle (listen to Matt and EarthRoamer CEO Scott Allen on the Overland Journal Podcast). I’ve always admired the build quality and longevity of these vehicles, which after a decade of use often look as new (and subsequently hold their value). To this end, cue today’s stunning 2013 EarthRoamer XV-LT (77,000 miles), which boasts a recent engine replacement (with less than 7,000 miles), extensive premium modifications, and is ready for exploration. At $375,000 OBO, this turnkey rig represents impressive value when you consider that the base price of a new EarthRoamer is $840,000 (with the final price closer to $900,000 when optioned) and that delivery can take up to 18 months.

EarthRoamer XV-LT From the Seller:

“‘Big Red’ is the only Ruby Red EarthRoamer ever manufactured! Originally serving as a spec truck, this camper came fully loaded. We have meticulously maintained the truck and the camper, upgrading almost every element over the years. The engine was replaced at 70,000 miles and currently has 7,000 miles on the new, fully warrantied replacement. There are two huge storage boxes on the rear of the camper. Behind the storage boxes is a large trunk storage area, and above that is yet another vertical storage locker. The camper’s interior has a king-size bed over the cab with cabinetry and storage, a brand-new 4K TV, a Bose surround sound system, dual motorized couches that convert into an extra bed, and swing-out tables for working or dining. The kitchen area has also been extensively upgraded. The bathroom is a rare dry-bath configuration with a separate shower area (this is amazing for drying gear without impeding the toilet space). We’ve used this truck in just about every climate, spent months at high altitude, taken it to the desert, the mountains, up to Canada, and to both coasts. Interested buyers can come check out the truck at Overland Expo Mountain West 8/22 and 8/23; we will be parked in the camping area.”

The EarthRoamer is underpinned by a Ford F-550 (Super Cab) chassis that’s powered by a 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbo-diesel motor that produces 300 horsepower and 660-pound-feet of torque (range provided via 90-gallon fuel tank). A powerful engine is matched with backcountry capability thanks to a body-on-frame architecture, 4WD, high and low range, solid axles, a lifted and uprated suspension, armor, super single wheels, front and rear winches, and intelligent assists. Inside, these rugged attributes are balanced with driver comforts that include:
