Ford F-250

Ford F-Series has been the best-selling pickup in the US for half a century, and during that time, it has remained in a constant state of evolution. It’s an automotive icon and plays a vital role in keeping the wheels of the American economy turning. With its bulletproof motor and drivetrain, heavy-duty 4WD system, and generous payload, it’s a truck you can depend on, whatever the climate or terrain, and is subsequently a staple of the commercial sector. These same desirable rugged attributes are transferable to overlanding, which is why it’s also a figurehead of the North American overlanding scene. For many, the older generations remain best of the breed with their function-forward design, basic electronics, field serviceability, “million-mile” 7.3-liter Power Stroke diesel motor, and huge aftermarket support. Cue today’s meticulously maintained 2000 Ford F-250 Lariat 4×4 (317,000 miles), which boasts the 7.3-liter Power Stroke, premium modifications, a Norweld Weekender Deluxe Tray, and a Northern Lite camper. At $59,500 OBO, this package represents impressive value, especially when you consider that if you replicated this setup, the tray and camper alone would far exceed the asking price. As a fellow overlander and someone living on the road full-time, I’ve always deeply admired the combination of a full-size truck, flatbed, and camper. The flatbed totally transforms storage space/utility, with lockable weather-proof exterior boxes that free up space inside the vehicle/camper and ensure that tools, spare parts, and camping gear are always readily accessible. The slide-in camper is also ideal since it can easily be removed should you wish to revert your truck to work mode, or could be swapped out entirely should you desire a change. All this to say, it’s arguably one of the most versatile and well-appointed setups for travel, and today’s offering is a great example.

Ford F-250From the Seller:

I bought this truck in 2013 with 137,000 miles with the intent of keeping it forever. My wife and I decided to try a different rig, and we have to let this go. I have skied/camped with this rig down to -15°F and have had zero issues. The truck has been well maintained by the same shop or a Ford dealer since 2013, and I have always replaced worn parts before they break. It has a comprehensive overland package ready for boondocking, ski trips, remote work, and four-season travel, and is a turnkey rig with plenty of life left in it. If you’re familiar with the 7.3 Power Stroke motor, you’ll understand that the maintenance matters more than mileage. This example has full service records since new, synthetic oil changes every 3,000 miles with Archoil, and has been maintained by the same shop since 2013 (Lark Arbor Auto & Truck). It’s ready to travel without waiting on tray builds, camper upgrades, or major installation costs. Extensive photos and maintenance history available. Clean title. No trades and lowball offers will be ignored. Thanks for looking, and happy to answer any questions and provide more pictures.
