Vans are popular because they offer functional, usable space. Traditional 4WD vehicles are popular as they offer rugged good looks and go-anywhere capability. Both vehicle styles have their limitations and it is natural that vehicle designers and users are attracted to hybrid concepts which offer the best of both worlds, on paper at least. The Forward Control Land Rover is the closest any mainstream manufacturer has come to creating a vehicle which many would describe as an ideal overland vehicle.
Designer Samir Sadikhov has a penchant for overland hybrid vans, Formula 1 race cars and all things fast and powerful. His latest renderings of the new Ford Bronco offer a tantalizing vision of what could be, should Ford ever decide to completely dominate both the VanLife and Overlanding markets in one fell swoop. Mr. Sadikhov’s rendering of the Bronco Van is attractive, with chunky tires, a trailer option and practical roof storage, we would love to see interior renderings (and an idea how a driver would access his seat).
The multi-award-winning designer has worked for Lamborghini and Rezvani motors, among others, and brings a keen eye for both the practical and magical to his designs, his photography is exceptional, in a world brimming with photography.
