If you’ve been listening to the Overland Journal Podcast, you might have enjoyed Scott Brady’s interview with Land Cruiser owner and adventurer Maggie McDermut, who discusses the importance of overland training, and how the Overland Expo education series helped her prepare for a three-month solo trip through Alaska and northwest Canada.
Fortunately, for those planning a domestic or international journey in 2021 or 2022, Overland Expo is offering the 2021 Overland Experience Scholarship Program, which will award up to nine participants a premium education ticket to an Overland Expo event of their choice (Mountain West, West, or East).
Requirements of the Overland Experience Scholarship Program:
- Must be departing on a planned domestic or international journey in 2021 or 2022
- Must publicly share the trip via social media
Winners will receive access to hundreds of specialized classes (300 to 400 session-hours offered, depending on the show), on-site camping, complimentary happy hour drinks on Friday and Saturday, attendance at the welcome banquet celebration, and a special attendee bag.
Winners will also hone their driving and adventure riding techniques (limited to six sessions), with exclusive use of the overland skills driving course and hands-on experience with expedition skills-building and recovery courses (limited to six sessions). An unlimited number of classes, spanning topics such as technology, gear, packing, maintenance, and navigation, are included.
Deadlines for the 2021 scholarship program are July 30, 2021, for Overland Expo Mountain West, August 27, 2021, for Overland Expo West, and September 10, 2021, for Overland Expo East.
