Kuju Single-serve Pour-over Coffee

kuju coffee overland news of the week

Finding the motivation to crawl out of your rooftop tent or campervan in the morning can be challenging. But I speak from experience when I say that Kuju Coffee’s single-serve pour-over coffee is a great motivator to get out of bed. They offer six different options: a traditional light, medium, or dark roast, as well as single-origin beans from Papua New Guinea, West Sumatra, and Ethiopia. Each serving comes in a pre-measured filter bag with an integrated cardboard anchor to suspend it in your cup. Just add boiling water.

Nomad Grill

nomad grill overland news of the week

Ok, at first glance, it might look more like fancy luggage than a state of the art barbeque grill, but inside the cast-aluminum exterior, the Nomad has what it takes to grill as many as 30 burgers or slow-cook something more sophisticated. A sliding vent on one side of the Nomad adjusts airflow for precise control of cooking temperatures. Other notable features include an integrated Tel-Tru T-Stat thermometer, a stainless steel domed cooking grate, and snap-shut latches to secure the whole rig for travel.

Primus Lite+ Backpacking Stove

primus light+ overland news of the week

This exceptionally small backpacking stove is a lightweight, minimalist cooking solution that’s perfectly suited for multi-day hikes, bikepacking, rafting, or any other adventure that takes you off the beaten path. The cleverly integrated locking system secures the primus Lite+ cooking pots to the burner with a simple twist (you can use other pots as well, without the locking feature), and piezo ignition means you won’t be left eating cold food because you forgot to bring a lighter. The Lite+ comes standard with a .5-liter cooking pot but is also compatible with the Lite+ 1-liter pot for preparing larger meals.

Snow Peak Takibi Tarp Hexa Set M

snow peak takibi tarp overland news of the week

Awnings are wonderful at providing shade from the sun and shelter from the rain. And while they’re great at shedding the elements, they are fairly susceptible to embers from campfires. But the Takibi tarp Hexa Set from Snow Peak is a little different. This hexagonal flat tarp utilizes an aramid fiber fabric layer, and Snow Peak claims that you can set it up over your campfire (with appropriate clearance, of course). The Takibi comes with 1.5-millimeter aluminum wing poles so that it can be set up independently from vehicles.

Snow Peak | $500

Lazer Jackal MIPS-certified Mountain Biking Helmet

lazer jackal overland news of the week

In the quest to find the perfect mountain biking helmet, there is often a delicate balance that must be struck between ample airflow, impact protection, and aesthetics. Lazer’s newest offering, the Jackal, appears to tick all three boxes. Eighteen vents are combined with a dropped profile that delivers additional protection to the bottom and rear of the head. An adjustable visor blocks sun while the ATS adjustment dial makes fine-tuning fit quick and easy. Finally, a multi-directional impact protection system (MIPS) aims to reduce rotational head injuries in the event of a crash.

Redverz Atacama Expedition Motorcycle Tent

redverz atacama tent overland news of the week

If you are hitting the road for a long-distance bike tour and you plan on camping a significant portion of the time, the Redverz Atacama tent will provide shelter for you and your bike. While it may not be a featherweight at 14-pounds, the Atacama does offer ample sleeping space for up to three occupants as well as complete protection for one motorcycle in the garage-style vestibule. Thanks to two openings, you can literally ride your bike (with panniers) straight into the parking spot at night. And for those of you who park your bike outside, the garage creates additional storage space for gear and people, with 6-feet, 4-inches of headroom.

Redverz | $599
