RawHyde Adventures’ ZAKAR Event Center and a New Fleet of GS Bikes

RawHyde Adventures has some exciting news for 2021. The “#1 enduro training facility in the country” will open its newly finished ZAKAR event center to the public. ZAKAR stands for Zombie Apocalypse Kompund At Rawhyde. If you’re curious about the name, read more here.

The event center sits on 2,500 acres in the Mojave Desert up Route 14 from Mojave, California—a fun area for testing out a GS from their fleet of 40th-anniversary BMWs, arriving in 2021. There are camp bunks, private rooms, classrooms, and a large tent for meetings, along with ample parking for RVs and trailers. Or, if you like to go light, bring a tent.

Rawhyde Adventures owner, Jim Hyde, and his crew spent several months finalizing the construction of the ZAKAR facility. A virtual tour of the event center is forthcoming in the near future. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for when that tour will be happening.

The center is a great place to meet other riders and four-wheelers, during Adventure Days, where GS riders convene with manufacturers looking to test out new gear, apparel, and bike modifications. The dates for 2021 are not set yet, but last year’s event was mid-March. If you can’t wait that long, head to California for a mid-winter escape, where you can try one of the new GSs.

Are you an ADV-bike-riding female? Take a ladies-only intro class and develop those off-road skills.

Rawhyde courses give riders access to all models of BMW bikes or you can use your own bike.
