Showcasing its capability in the world of outdoor recreation, Ford has debuted their new F-150 Tremor hitched to a Boreas XT camper (read our XT12 camper feature here). With Covid-19 hanging around longer than most people anticipated, outdoor recreation has become more important than ever, offering a reasonable way to get out and have fun while maintaining responsible social distancing. Ford’s aim to showcase its Tremor as the ideal outdoor recreation vehicle is well-timed.
New Features
The new F150 variant offers a selection of features that support towing and off-highway driving. Here’s a glimpse.
Trail One-Pedal Drive – Applies brakes automatically as the driver eases off of the accelerator, effectively performing left-foot braking with the use of a single pedal.
Trail Turn Assist – Applies brakes to the inside rear wheel when turning, creating a tighter turn radius.
Trail Control – Basically, it’s cruise control for off-highway driving.
With a maximum conventional tow-rating of 10,900 pounds, the Tremor is more than capable of towing the relatively lightweight Boreas XT or XT-12 (dry weight of 3,500 pounds).
