If you prefer your 4WDs tiny, then the Australian market’s Suzuki Fourby could be pint-sized perfection. This modern Jimny has some updates that increase the entire driving experience, including a larger displacement engine, modern safety components, and a new infotainment system. Knowing that would-be customers will be looking for quality aftermarket gear to outfit this 4×4, Suzuki worked directly with ARB to develop new prototypes which they used to outfit their project JBox promo vehicle.
The ARB team of engineers conceived a slew of new components for the Fourby, including a bull bar, rock sliders, roof rack, and suspension while confirming fitment from the previous models on other items such as air lockers. The promo JBox vehicle will be fitted with the tiniest (appropriate) Summit bull bar ever designed by ARB, with the same familiar profile as previous Summit bull bars. However, the hoops have been reduced in size to match the profile of the compact Fourby. This new Summit bumper may be small, but it still allows room for a Warn 8,000-pound Magnum winch, encouraging proper 4WD adventures.
Rounding out the prototype ARB gear on the new Fourby are newly-designed rock sliders that tuck in neatly under the door sills and a retrofit roof rack, a necessity given the minimal amount of interior cargo space in the tiny Suzuki. Prototype suspension provides the additional clearance needed for larger tires, increasing off-road capability.
