Ford F-350

With more people than ever transitioning to life on the road, full-size trucks have grown exponentially in popularity. The Overland Collective has studied the Full-size Revolution, with Executive Publisher Scott Brady stating: “When we first started Overland Journal, the compact pickup was by far the most popular choice for overlanding, but that gap is quickly narrowing with full-size variants. The reason is simple—big trucks are more capable than ever before, and they have the payload to haul more than a few passengers and a basket of groceries.” The reality is that the moment you add a camper, supplies, spare parts/tools, and occupants to a mid-size truck, you’re likely to exceed the payload, forcing owners to modify their vehicle (often at great expense) to compensate, with varying levels of success. Alternatively, a full-size truck is engineered from the factory for heavy commercial work and is ideally suited to heavier overland builds; to that end, Ford’s F-Series is class-leading. Launched in 1948, the lineup has evolved continuously and has been the best-selling truck in the USA for almost half a century. Cue today’s 2020 Ford F-350 XLT Crew Cab (55,000-kilometers/~34,200-miles), which has been reimagined from the ground up with premium aftermarket upgrades and topped with a fully equipped Four Wheel Campers Hawk. The F-350 that underpins this package has been optimized for the backcountry with a lifted, uprated suspension, front and rear lockers, 37-inch tires, armor, a winch, and more. This pinnacle backcountry platform pairs with a four-season-ready Four Wheel Campers’ Hawk, featuring climate control, a lithium house battery system, a queen-size bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large freshwater tank with multi-stage filtration. At $75,000, this turnkey rig offers impressive value and is a fraction of what it would cost to recreate.

Ford F-350 From the Seller:

“Up for sale is my 2020 Ford F-350 XLT Crew Cab short box. The truck was factory-ordered with the things that mattered and none of the extra ‘stuff.’ I built the truck to explore and adventure in, and it has done just that. The truck has 55,000 kilometers (~34,200 miles) and has been extremely well cared for and not abused. It’s perfect for remote travel, with front and rear lockers and a Warn 16,500-pound winch. The camper is well set up and comfortable. Both the truck and camper are in excellent condition, have been maintained properly, and everything works as it should.”
