Guest Bio:

We’re Leigh from Australia and Stephy from France. We met in 2009 while traveling in Thailand and quickly realized we shared a love for adventure, the outdoors, and exploring the off-the-beaten path. Together we’ve built a life on the road. Since 2017, we’ve been traveling the world in our Land Rover Defender, “Bear,” and Four Wheel Camper, “Grizzly,” exploring remote places, meeting incredible people, and learning as we go. For us, overlanding is about freedom, simplicity, and experiencing different cultures in a more meaningful way. We share our journey through videos on YouTube & Instagram (GrizzlyNbear Overland), hoping to inspire others to get outside, chase curiosity, and say yes to adventure—even when it feels a little uncomfortable.

Ashley Giordano

Ashley Giordano’s first foray into overland travel involved a 48,800-kilometer journey from Canada to Argentina with her husband, Richard, in their well-loved but antiquated 1990 Toyota Pickup. Currently cruising along the iconic Silk Road in a 2008 Toyota Tundra, her full-time navigator duties are rewarded with bowls of plov and lagman noodles, hikes in the Tian Shan, and countless cups of fragrant Tashkent tea. As senior editor at Overland Journal, you can usually find Ashley buried in a pile of travel books, poring over maps, or writing about the unsung women of overlanding history, including her enduring inspiration, Barbara Toy. @desktoglory_ash
