2021 Ford F-150 Tremor w/ Aterra ATP Topper :: Featured Classified

Ford F-150 Tremor

The Ford F-150 is the full-size pickup to beat and has remained the best-selling truck in the US for almost 50 years; it’s regularly featured in Overland Journal’s Full-size Truck of the Year awards. During this time, the model has remained in a constant state of evolution, with Ford’s engineers finetuning every last detail. A key development in recent years is the company’s commitment to overlanding and its mission to create the ultimate off-the-shelf, backcountry-ready, full-size truck. Introducing the Tremor, which uprates the already capable F-150, with an overhauled heavy-duty suspension, skid plates, recovery points, a rear locking differential, a front Torsen limited-slip front differential, and intelligent onboard assists. Inside, these rugged attributes are balanced with plush interior luxury, which significantly reduces fatigue during long days on the trail. Cue today’s low mileage 2021 Ford F-150 Tremor (35,xxx miles), which incorporates tasteful upgrades and an Aterra ATP topper. This impressive package was built by a seasoned overlander who understands the realities of travel and has subsequently taken a function-first approach to every modification. Subsequently, the seller has not strayed far from the factory build, since it’s fit for purpose out of the box, and ensures that issues can be addressed by any Ford dealership/mechanic. The topper (six months old) was also an intentional choice and provides everything you need to camp and nothing extra, while retaining the truck’s bed space for use as a practical daily hauler. At $60,000 (the topper alone has a starting price of $20,500), this package represents an impressive value and is turnkey-ready for your next adventure.

“I wanted to modify this truck as little as possible, i.e., I wanted the best fit for my needs from the factory. I know from experience that driving a heavily modified vehicle means that you will end up doing a lot of work on it yourself (and/or relying on a trusted specialty shop). That can be fun, but for this build, I wanted to prioritize ease of factory maintenance. I have learned that, unless you’re lucky enough to have a dedicated adventure vehicle, you’re probably going to accrue a ton of road miles on your rig. This led me to a few build choices, such as not hanging a bunch of stuff off the outside of the rig to be broken/stolen/worn out, or lifting/armoring/overloading it so much that it becomes uncomfortable, loud, or cumbersome to drive. This is also why I didn’t build out the truck bed. I wanted it to be useful both as a truck and a camper. For camping, it makes a great weather-proof tiny cabin with near-zero setup time. It’s nice to be able to step into the bed without ducking under the roof line, like you would have to do with a pop-up camper. The Ecoflow alternator charger quickly recharges any Ecoflow power bank, making it easy to power the ATP lights and fan, plus your fridge and whatever else you want to plug in. The tailgate makes a good place to rest a stove for cooking. I use a Nemo camp shower, so there is no need for a water tank. I wanted to build this truck with maximum versatility, and I like the result.”
