“We bought our Grit Overland GO/AT about a year and a half ago after looking at many competitors. We were taking a sabbatical from work and wanted to tour the US with our dog. We were drawn to the van as our dog is 13.5 years old, and we knew we couldn’t take her with us everywhere. With the large power system, efficient AC, and the ability to auto-start the van at high idle to charge the batteries when low, we could sometimes safely leave her in the van. We’ve lived in this rig for about four months, but our sabbatical is coming to an end, so we’ll no longer be able to use the rig to its full potential (especially as we have another adventure vehicle). For those unfamiliar with Grit Overland, it is a small van manufacturer outside of Portland, Oregon, that makes RVIA-certified vans, similar to Storyteller Overland but on the Ford chassis. We added a Canyon Adventure Vans bench, which has a lot of storage, a rear removable slide out from Shuksan Vans, including a lockable cabinet, and an extra Dometic cooler we use as a freezer (a game changer on long trips).
