Expedition Portal Launches the Overland Job Board

overland job board

The outdoor and adventure travel industries have expanded by leaps and bounds in the last few years, and the growth in those spaces has shown no signs of slowing. This is a good thing—not only does it drive positive vectors for employment and profitability, but also for global sustainability. With huge companies like Patagonia and REI, as well as smaller ones like Sea to Summit, committing themselves to carbon-neutral, reforestation, and other ecosystem and habitat-focused initiatives, we might have a shot at keeping our outdoor lifestyles alive for generations to come. Thus, we are happy to roll out the Overland Job Board on the Expedition Portal forum.

This space is for employers to post open job positions and help-wanted notices in the overland, off-road, adventure travel, and outdoor worlds. In addition, you can also upload your resume and hang out your shingle in the In Search of Employment forum. Perhaps you’re actively looking for a new position for 2024, or you have a new firm looking to get its footing in a diverse, rewarding, and increasingly profitable industry, or you’re one of the big movers and shakers, and you’re searching for the best talent available. In any case, you’ll find what you’re looking for in our new Overland Job Board.

Remember that both Expedition Portal and Overland Journal are always on the search for compelling, expertly crafted travel stories, product reviews, and photo essays. Expedition Portal is the largest online overland forum and news source in the world, and Overland Journal is the premier print quarterly for adventure travelers of all stripes. I may be biased, but the magazine both looks amazing and feels hefty and substantial in your hands. Imagine your own creative work among those pages.

Do you have some talent at the keyboard or behind the lens? Reach out through our submissions link—we’d love to hear from you.

Stephan Edwards is the Associate Editor of Expedition Portal and Overland Journal. He and his wife, Julie, once bought an old Land Rover sight unseen from strangers on the internet in a country they'd never been to and drove it through half of Africa. After living in Botswana for two years, Stephan now makes camp at the foot of a round mountain in Missoula, Montana. He still drives that Land Rover every day. An anthropologist in his former life and a lover of all things automotive, Stephan is a staunch advocate for public lands and his writing and photography have appeared in Road & Track, The Drive, and Adventure Journal.
